If someone can print all the 3D pieces, I might consider buying the set, if it's not too expensive. But it seems like it will still be some time before anyone has a full collection of all the pieces needed for a bulldog set up. (10 pawns, guard, witch, etc - both colors).![]()
3D Designs for Bulldog Pieces
I already did buy a 10x8 board, but haven't received it yet. It's an antique, and not in good condition, but I think it will be interesting - especially if I can put custom pieces on it.
I believe the squares are 1-3/8" square (about 35 x 35 mm).
ok, thanks. If i add witch and guard to the plastic chess set only them, i might sell it with a plasic board for maybe 20.00,
but if just bulldog chess pieces, without the board and standard chess pieces, then i would say 6 bucks per 2 pieces, and i will pobably fill them up with sand, then close it off with maybe some felt that i can glue on,
To pay you can pay me through my moms paypal account, that i will send anyone that wants to by it.
But first i must get atleast around 3 buyers.
Don't count me in your buyers, Benji. I'm in the UK and shipping alone will probably cost $20. I think I'm going to try to make myself a quality heavy set in the New Year, a little project.

Ok, thanks. Post some pics of the 3D models when you have them (at least the guard and witch). I think I might buy a set from you. But please only make them if you enjoy it. Everything here should be for fun mostly, but I'm happy to pay because I know it costs money to load the printer with plastic resin and other costs.![]()

OK, yes, well since the panama city library does not accept people like me from another county, i only have one thing left, to ask my friend if i can use his.
I made a guard and a witch out of paper:

The image wasn't that good, but I actually made it look good.
You can also make 3d stuff on 3D builder (app) and then do 3d print. It's going to be really expensive.
For the "infinite" boards you could have some pattern squares that would all fit into one another like pieces from a puzzle.
You'd need some particular pieces. I'm working right now to find out specifically how many.
I made a 3D themed guard that could be used on 2D boards like the 3D theme for the chess.com boards
I like that design a lot. It has a big sturdy base, which is how I envision the guard. A strong piece but moves slowly. Very cool design!![]()

That's very cool too. I'll have family visiting during Christmas, so I might need to do something like that if anyone will play me in with physical pieces. I made some wood pieces - but only the white ones so far. Paper is good in a hurry!

I've been considering casting pieces. 3D printing is expensive, as best I can tell. The material starts at around $20 a kilo, and can be a lot more for certain materials, so if you want a nice heavy set, it will cost. The beauty of casting resin rather than 3D printing it is that you can have an outer shell of pure resin, and an interior of resin plus a cheap filler, perhaps sand, thus bringing down the costs and making it more affordable...
Do you mean casting like building a mold, and pouring material in it? You would still need to some "master" piece to make the mold from, right?
