I dont know if this idea is the best...

but look here... once you disable a club, and go to its members page (saved as a link earlier)

you can view everything from there! You can create forums. news, etc.

https://www.chess.com/clubs/members/disabled-9club - this is a place where you get to see everything and www.chess.com/club/disabled-9club is somewhere you see the club disabled, and get redirected to chess.com/clubs instead.

Now, it doesnt show up in member's club list!

Awesome idea?

I eould have to test but I imagine regular club members wouldn't be able to do anything in a disabled club. If they could, it would defeat the purpose of it being disabled.

Regular members can be promoted to admins in that club by their super admins grin.png

i dont know if notifications get sent, but its practically for a private group of a small number of members, so basically the forum OP sends the link to the club members thru PM.

I just tested. Regular members can still post. That sounds like a bug to me.

Will try sending an invite before staff renable.

Ok, invites can be sent but not accepted.

Still think it is a bug, though I guess it might be by design.
