Got a game from an Untitled Tuesday event you're particularly proud of?  Post it here!

Here's one where I nearly toppled @SerBrus:

A rather painful loss, missing a mate in two against a much stronger player, but on the whole a game I'm quite happy with.

Here's a chaotic game versus @gambit-man which I won: https://www.chess.com/live/game/2111535160

I have a strong and stable leadership internet connection, but I was disconnected during 3 of my 7 games... I did manage to run Triggerlips hard until his superior endgame play took over…

You and me both, @MGleason.

I won a rather wild game against @Paldrick:

@MGleason: What's the move 2. Nc3 about? In any case, the main moves there are 3. Bg5 the Richter-Veresov and 3. Bf4 the Jobava. Both are equal, but interesting and probably worth looking into.

MGleason

2. Nc3 - other than the normal developing a piece, it controls e4, and supports d5 if he wants to move the queen.

chesster3145

Ok. Just curious, because although the move 2. Nc3 is fine, most people have played 2. c4 there.

MGleason

Yeah, that was it.

That queen had so many places to run all over the middle of the board - but they were all covered by one piece or another. grin.png

7.cxd3!? would have given you the chance to play e4 soon. I'm not sure whether it would have been a theortical advantage, but your position would have been easier to play and you almost certainly would have been able to gain an edge in the opening in a blitz game. Something like this:

MGleason

Good point.  I took with the queen so as to keep the pawn structure intact and connect the rooks, but the double pawns are if anything a strength, the open file may be an asset, and the queen is easy to move later.

LogoCzar

I did rather poor in this untitled Saturday, but still had some interesting games.

One of them was an exciting draw with upcominggm.

chesster3145

@logozar: What do you think of 9... Bxc3? It sems like an easy stable advantage.

LogoCzar

It probably is. I just thought I could get more from keeping the bishop pair on the board, and had I played correctly, I might have.

That was an incredible game - over 100 moves, seven(!) pawn promotions...

SmyslovFan

Really? They missed several quick mates in that game. It was almost as if they were trying to make it last as long as possible.

MGleason

Either that or they were playing on increment for much of the game.
