Half-blind chess-pieces

Please, add a "figure-set", where all figures are shown as "checkers", to play half-blind-fold games.

we know that there is a piece (that's not the king) there, but we don't know exactly which piece it is unless we play it like blindfold

It would be easy to get around this as you can just get out a chessboard and see where each piece comes from to see what it is

You could only really do this with chess 960

It is a good excercise, full blind-fold is too hard for beginners, this is an half-way variant, and it is very simple to realize, just add new pieces-set.

Players knowing the start position of their opponent's pieces could be prevented by having a doubly random start position.

That still wouldn't prevent someone from having a chessboard set up and replacing a checker/draughtsman with the appropriate piece as soon as they discovered what it was. though.

lichess implemented the piece set.
