Inferiority

There are the big bad birds

They eat meat, rip flesh off bones

Snatch away nestlings to devour

*There are the cruel lowlifes

Who don't care about anyone but themselves

They rip families apart, loom over the weak*

There are the small gentle birds

They eat nuts, suck nectar out of flowers

Snatch at nuts to peck

*There are the weak in society

Can't protect themselves, much less others

They cower before muggers, tremble in fear*

There are the medium-sized birds

No one knows what to think of them

Sometimes they suck nectar, other times they peck away at meat

*The commoners; no one pays much heed

They do what they want, but not beyond law

Sometimes they get chased by the baddies,

Or they look down on the poor and the weak*

The big bad birds chase the medium-sized ones

The medium-sized ones chase the small birds

Almost snatches a bad babe right out of the air

All are birds in the end;

All are the prey in the end.

Basically you compared the power distribution among stronger , middle range , weaker section.

Not only in society but in animals too .

Yes this trend of power is shattered everywhere .

One who is stronger uses their power for ruining the life of   weaker one's .
