Magnatars

I'm in high school and I'm thinking of studing magnatars any one know anything about them?

What's a magnatar?hehe,that's a cool word...

The ESA's Newton Space Telescope is researching Magnetars, since they are Xray sources.   Current models say there are two classes - anomalous Xray pulsars and soft gamma repeaters.  Here's an overview from their website:
