My first books

Ok, not my first books, but the only one I have right now is practically useless to actually learn anything

Ignore my filthy desk I do need to clean it

1. Endgame course: I bought this with the intention of being able to definitively win slightly better endgames produced with the Catalan as I always end up with a lightly better position once some pieces and pawns are traded but I'm never able to convert that into a win. (The reason why I'm currently playing Colle (Which I'm also getting a book on but it hasn't arrived yet rip). 

2. I bought this on the recommendation of @B1ZMARK (thank u sir), as I think the Alekhine is a good fit for me. I'm good with the Budapest gambit, which kinda has the same principles in it, and I desperately need a weapon against 1. e4 as black (And I have had good results with it in the past, I was just too scared to actually play it). And tbf I am very tired of everyone playing the bc4 d3 Sicilian all the time

Cool! I want to get some chess books too, but only when I'm a little better, because I feel that at this point, most things for beginners are easily accessable in the chess.com lessons, especially since I have a diamond membership

I don't study endgames, I just wing it.

I was already playing it I just got too nervous about playing it as my rating rose lol

same but I get very mad when I make the wrong move or something and the enemy king takes all my pawns so we're just gonna read the book and get good at it

alekhine is great

Silman's endgame course is phenomenal.

YES play alekhines

Although im gonna prob play g6 c6 d6 now against everything

ngl alekhine alert is basically all ya need against 1.e4

I'm enjoying it so far, I like the fact that he goes through the stupid crap as well as the actual lines

I was just gifted How to Reassess Your Chess by Jeremy Silman. Any thoughts on this book for someone of my level? I feel that there are things I can learn from it and others that I will have to revisit, as I hopefully get better.  Am I looking at it the right way?

I believe Reassess your chess is more of an intermediate's tool but I'm sure you could probably pick some stuff up if I'm even right about that

What do folks think of Polgar's Chess Tactics for Champions? I'm slowly making my way through it. 

I recently finished Bain's Chess Tactics for Students, which was pretty basic and easy. I am finding the puzzles in the Polgar book to be harder (not impossible, but I do get stuck on some of them). Hopefully harder translates to more useful.

Chess Tactics for Students is a pretty basic book.
