I played this game but I was blue who was unfortunately stuck in the middle, and even though I was much higher rated then everyone else, I got attacked on both sides and ended up resigning. Also, green can never get KoTH, such people may not want to play. It has potential but I doubt it will be a approved.

Red cannot get to the hill without blue and green's help. It's possible for blue or yellow to help red or weaken green, and then attack green so that they cannot reach the hill.
(Being closer or farther from the hill doesn't give much of an advantage, since other players can always prevent you from reaching it)
To be more specific, if blue is slow to help red, then red will lose first. This happened in the first game linked above (https://www.chess.com/4-player-chess?g=4400673-0) I played terribly near the end, and that definitely helped green, the point still stands.
red, blue, and yellow are all better in different situations. If red and blue cooperate, they could probably fight off green, and yellow is forced to attack blue from behind in order to win.
If blue does not help red, red will be in danger of getting crushed by green, and if yellow and blue don't cooperate then they will surely lose as well. If blue and yellow cooperate after red falls, they could fight off green. In this situation, red could attack blue so that blue and yellow can no longer fight off green...
All players stand a chance, and the outcome depends on who helps who and when that happens.
I like original ideas but this is too unbalanced; green will always win unless he dc/resign in which case red will always win. Even if a 3v1 occurs the entrance to green's territory is so narrow, only one person can attack at a time so green will still win, and this is if no backstabbing occurs (it always occurs though). Yellow and blue have absolutely 0 chance of winning. So declined
Hello! I made this FFA variant with unequal starting material that encourages teamwork between players. If red, blue, and yellow fight, then green will crush them with their material advantage. If green falls, then red, blue, and yellow have to fight over who reaches the hill. I think it's a pretty interesting concept!
