Stockfish vs Rybka

I think that people will like a match between Stockfish and Rybka (Fritz 16) These engines are two strong engines, one is the actual champion and the other is an old one.

Fritz has been participating in the tournaments, and hasn't been able to get anywhere near Stockfish.  It's still very strong, but the top engines like Stockfish, Lc0 (and variants), Komodo, and Houdini are absolute monsters.

A number of years ago, Rybka was banned from some tournaments, not for being too strong, but because they believed (and not without reason) that it was plagiarising other engines, notably Fruit.

Rybka was one of the top engines at the time, but modern engines have improved dramatically beyond that point.  Modern Fritz is based on Rybka, but Fritz today would destroy old versions of Rybka, and Stockfish destroys Fritz.

Fritz/Rybka is a very popular chess engine and it is still creating some masterpieces. Look at the game.

I think that this kind of matches will add more viewers for CCC. You can ask the question for the match in a survey, and I think that lots of people will want this match between Stockfish and Fritz 16 (Rybka)

They've already played numerous matches as part of a larger round-robin tournament.  Stockfish always dominates.

But I think that you could put Fritz 16 in CCC9.

Fritz was in some of the earlier tournaments, I'm not sure why it's not in the current one.
