Looking for suggestions for study materials on the Stonewall.

I have a few books that are really just chess notations and I would like to find some study materials that would cover the Stonewall with text as well as chess notation.

Suggestions Please!

Thanks ~ Rich

I think there is only one book like that. You can find a lot of stonewall material in some Colle books.

Hello Rich

I have one book called "Adventure of a Chessmaster" By Geo Koltanowski blindfold champion. He also always pushed the Colle system.

This is his memoirs and games of his travels around the world. It is entertaining, comical instructive and he has many Stonewall and Colle System.

How to Think Ahead in Chess by Horowitz & Reinfeld (1951) has a section on the Stonewall Attack and is good for someone just starting to play the Stonewall.

The Stonewall Attack by Andrew Soltis (1987, 1993 second edition) has wider coverage.

White Opening System Combining Stonewall Attack, Colle System & Torre Attack by Andrew Soltis (1992) tries to use the most effective opening based on Black's reply.

Books on the Dutch Stonewall should also be useful since the strategies are similar, but with colors reversed.

It would be better if anyone could provide an acutal download link for these books

I also use Soltis book: "The Stonewall Attack". Very nicely written with a large introduction to strategies in this opening.

In Timothy Taylor "Bird Opening" also has a section about the Stonewall attack, even though the author does not consider it's the best way to handle the Bird. (Maybe he should discuss with Soltis ;-)

He prefers either the Classical Dutch Reversed or the Leningrad (with g3) as best options for white after 1.f4.
