Not just to stream matches, but to promote matches

Ok let's ask titled streamers to stream matches and hopefully that could get members

On top of inviting players. My opinion is to do something with players in this club that doesn’t respond to our admins alerts. We look silly having big number of members and just 200 tops of active members. Maybe once we are trimmed down to quality members maybe we’ll look more enticing to big name players. I find it disrespectful that we can have members who turns off their messages, news, forums etc alerts. Our admins works hard volunteering their time and energy to get these matches set.

neatgreatfire

We should go invite a lot of titled players. We don't need naka, but it would be nice to have a few titled players.

Well most really good ones don't check their messages because they have so many fans

There's also the US Chess club, we could try to poach from there

Jegm1

About two months ago when US CHESS was established I invited about 4-5 pages worth of people. About 20 responded that they would join. So definitely worth doing extra effort.

At least 20+ new members with 2300+ rating would definetly drastically improve our results.

I also think that matches should be played in 2 groups,- lets say all over 2000 one and under 2000 the second. This way it least we'll have better chances IMO.

WL doesn't have two groups, it's whole team vs whole team, and the closest to two groups is LCPAL U1600

Personally I feel like we need more middle to low elo players (1800-900)

Typewriter44

We need all rating groups, but the higher the better.

Kuya9ie

Any ratings will be great at this point gentlemen. 2000+ players will be a bonus. We can always set in house tournaments by rating categories.

Nubby, I'm aware of this, but we can make internal decision...

What do you mean?

kot60

We need to ask members below certain level not to play in all matches..

Kuya9ie

@kot60 I respect your suggestion because you’re a strong player. In some way I agree with your wise thinking. But by rules of the league we just can’t simply do that.

What we need to do is start dismissing members who doesn’t participate or at least communicate. We look silly out there looking big but only a handful are active.

Typewriter44

Pruning our membership would be a good idea. We could start with those who haven't logged on recently, then those who never check the group or play in matches. Then, we'll have about 500 probably. We can routinely prune every few months, keeping the membership reasonable.

Kuya9ie

I already did the count of inactive (haven’t logged In for at least one month). There’s approximately 300 of them. My idea for the rest who haven’t responded to admins mass messages or news is to send another mass message asking each of us to respond for the dates the last time we played for the team. List  down the names who’ll respond in an excel then start dismissing who won’t be in that list. Of course with an exception for those the admins know who contributed in the past.

That would be unfair for people like me, especially since I'm on the active side of the spectrum
