mine - same reason as sojourna's.
Why did you choose the international label?

Me too Sojourna.
I am a British citizen but I lived for 3 and a half years in Spain before moving to Belgium, which is where I am currently based. My girlfriend is Valencian and she's still there, with my heart... and it tends to be where the home is, no?
So I guess formally I am British, but personally I identify more with people who are less attached to exclusive notions of nationhood than I do with 'other Brits' and I saw the choice of international as a nice way of expressing this feeling.
Well, this came up in the "hi" thread, but I thought I'd kick off another thread to focus just on this question.
My reason for choosing international was that, while I live in Spain, I do not identify with the Spain label and flag. I'm originally from Australia and have lived for a decade in Greece. I have been in Spain for a year now. So, for me, it wasn't a general choice or stance against flags per se, but a practical and personal decision. I feel international. I once identified with the Australian flag, having been born and bred there, but now I no longer do. I've been away for too long.
I think that more and more people are travelling and living for significant periods of time in various countries. Technology also makes working in different countries much easier - well, for those whose basic mode of work depends on technology and internet. This will surely result in a very real international class or group of people with shared interests and shared identity (I guess...)
So, why did you choose the international label?
