I am an avid chess player, author, and coach in my early twenties who loves striving for competence, constant improvement, and enjoys helping others on similar journeys.

⚔️ MINDSET - I strongly believe that success and happiness are a result of your choices and habits. What you do and what you think define your reality. Progress comes from a mixture of persistence and innovation.

The key is a growth mindset, always looking to learn and improve, do things faster and better, enjoying the process, being grateful for what one already has, and genuinely wanting to put in the hours. Progress will come if you do these, I promise!

📈 COACHING - I love coaching players of all levels who are serious about improving. As a coach, I place a large emphasis on:

Helping you identify your strengths and improvement areas
Recommending relevant literature and providing exercises to progress in these areas
Improve thinking and training habits on and off the board
Being well-prepared for each lesson
Constantly looking to improve the quality of the lessons
Tailor the experience to each student to maximize progress
Communicating clearly and neatly organizing key points and resources
Building a meaningful relationship with my students
Providing a high level of support and encouraging the student

With this in mind, I offer personalized 1-on-1 coaching. I consistently go overtime and I am always reachable between the lessons, as I truly want to help my students, taking time out of my day to do so.

If I do not genuinely believe I will help you reach your goals, then I will let you know, as I respect the time and effort of both parties.

I specialize in the 1000-2000 FIDE rating group, although I also have experience helping people below this level. I have helped dozens of players take the next step and gain hundreds of rating points, some in the span of only weeks or months, with years of coaching experience.

I also started out myself as a beginner with a rating around 750 at the age of 16 and gained over 1500 rating points in the first 5 years of playing online at a steady 1 rating a day. This puts me in a unique position of understanding what is needed to progress at every level below my own!

✅ LESSONS - Coaching lessons have a duration of 60 to 90 minutes, making sure there is no stress in finishing up the material, and answering whatever questions the student might have.

Lessons can be booked either 1 or 10 lessons at a time at 60$ and 500$ respectively via Calendly, which accounts for timezones: https://calendly.com/bennerchess.

This price tag includes:
1. The lesson itself
2. The preparation between each lesson
3. Handpicked material for the lesson
4. Homework & training games between lessons when relevant
5. Repertoire recommendations
6. A very high support level (I usually respond within an hour or less to any inquiries on Discord and frequently have longer conversations with students between lessons as well, free of charge).
