How My Coaching Career Started
At 17, while still a professional player, I was invited to coach younger players at training camps. Later, I took on my first private student, who won gold and silver at the Serbian National Championships for three consecutive years. That experience sparked my coaching career.
Years later, I transitioned to online coaching and developed a structured program designed to adapt to different playing styles, thinking patterns, and learning needs. Over time, my methods have been tested and refined, helping students achieve significant progress.
Today, parts of my program are used by local coaches in elementary schools.
Coaching Method & Options
To get started, you’ll need to:
-
Be a Chess.com member (free signup).
-
Send me a message with your rating, goals, and expectations.
-
Add me as a friend on Chess.com.
I prefer working with students who set realistic goals. If you're rated 1200 and expect to become a FIDE Master within a year, I'm not the right coach for you. Coaching isn't a shortcut - it's guidance. You’ll need to put in the work outside of lessons as well.
-
Lesson Format: Audio-only or audio-video (same fee).
-
Post-Lesson Material: You’ll receive lesson notes for free.
-
Correspondence Games: As my student, you can play unrated 3-day-per-move games against me for free. We’ll review your moves during lessons.
-
Homework: Highly recommended! Free on request.
We’ll communicate via Chess.com messages or email (kekenj@gmail.com). Live lessons are conducted over Skype (ID: Mizant83).

I coach players up to 1800 FIDE, but my expertise shines with those below 1400 FIDE.
