Carlsen-Caruana snap judgments

Yes , Carlsen is certainly better in rapid and Caruana knows it. How will that affect him if the match is tied towards the end? Will he take risks to avoid the rapid tie breaks?

Anyone notice that FIDE has removed the 2018 London world championship page from worldchess.com?  I wonder if that foreshadows venue movement to Saint Louis?

They can't change the place now unless the organiser itself asks it because of inability to host the event. Changing the place without a reason will create a lot of turmoil.

The way Caruana has talked about how he will prepare for the match, he may be better prepared than ever. Magnus sounds less hungry, but whether these and other factors will bridge the gap remains to be seen. There are too many variables for the probable outcome to be very clear.

FIDE is not actually involved any more, all the rights to the World Championship have been sold off to AGON. That said, moving the venue at this late stage would be huge news.

It would be spectacular if it were moved to St. Louis--  I could drive there in 15 minutes.  I doubt it's going to be moved this late into the development.  Likely, it's simply moved to another non-FIDE related page, as BonTheCat pointed out.

Did try to tell them that my local church was an ideal venue ;-)
