A knight can move one space like a rook in three moves, but two spaces like a rook takes only two. It moves one space like a bishop in two, and two spaces like a bishop requires four.

This ending is also worth knowing with respect to the color square a knight sits on. From Alessandro Salvio 1604. Black to move.
