Any ideas on this "Millennium Chess" HOS set on ebay?

The only good thing is that the lack of knowledge the seller has about his set is probably the reason the bid is relatively low right now (250 bucks). The only Millennium series chess set I've seen is one produced by Jaques. As best I can tell from the limited pictures, this is a nice set, but what is it? The case is House of Staunton. Presumably the pieces are as well.

I recall when Frank Camaratta was just coming out with this set.  At the time, he was wholesaling for Jaques.

I was talking with him on the phone and he was coming out with the set, calling it the Millenium.  It is very much the same design as the Jaques set but just a little lower in quality to the Jaques.

Shortly after coming out with the set, he changed the name to eliminate confusion with the Jaques set.

The new name of the set was and is the Marshall Series set.

It originally sold in the $360 range if I recall correctly.  I bought one.

I see that it is in a wood brief case.  That case sold for $100.

So yes, this looks to be a true HoS set.

thanks much! that saves me some bidding. If it was a 1,200 dollar set, then sure, I'll bid knowing there's some resale value built in.
