Do you think a vintage Drueke should be priced as high as a MTM Wood board?

Mister Modoct, can you please post some pics of the original board with round borders? I have also seen vintage Drueke boards with straight borders, What's the story with those boards?

For a collector, the Drueke boards start and finish to be called Vintage with the original company finishing its operations in 1987. The boards of the 2 companies taking the succession or the Drueke grand son were producing chess boards that are not Vintage.

The technique was close, but still they were trying to reproduce the original Drueke chess boards.

You have posted the right photos of the 2 models with straight sides and curved ones: the straight sides are not from the original company. The first board according to the photo is probably one of the grand son or in  any case a board made after 1987. Generally these boards are more "white", the vintages have more patine, are more yellowish. Also the inscriptions or labels on the back of the board are different.

Thank you for the info! There isn't much info about the timeline of the Drueke boards so I thought the straight borders were the 1st generation.

I just wanted to update the thread. I ended up buying a Drueke board. I wanted something to match my vintage Chavet B210 which has an antique finish. A new board from MTM just wouldn't have the right patina to match. I had to go with a vintage Drueke. Here is my B210 on the Drueke I picked up from eBay.

In case you're wondering, I did not buy the $580 Drueke board. I bought the one for $365 plus $21 shipping. It has condition issues on the bottom side but the top side is excellent. I wanted the $580 board, but I couldn't get passed the idea that I could buy a Jaques-style antique board for the same money. Here is a 59 mm board for sale from Luke Honey for 490 GBP ($675 USD).

Oh well. I am happy with the Drueke I bought.

That's a beautiful copy and indeed matches very nicely with your B210. Congratz buddy!

Thanks! I never really cared before I bought the first vintage Lardy. What a can of worms that caused. Haha!
