Is It Time?

Bah, just ignore the trolls, do not bother to read their topics, and never ever reply to their posts! Otherwise feel free to create a "club", they have forums too, and invite all the usual suspects, and within its "aquarium" the waters will indeed be calm. The downside is of course that you lose all the positive aspects of a public forum (like new people finding their way to the hobby of collecting, and all the lurkers who are genuinly interested but do not want to post much).

    Oh, you're leaving, good.

Unfortunately for you you did not simply voice an opinion.  No, you did much worse.

    Bye

Simple natural selection. The superior threads will survive and populate the internet with their progeny.

Perhaps we should stop calling people with alternate opinions trolls?

Wow, it's rare to see such a good comment on Chess.com, might just qualify as comment of the year. He's onto something guys

Simple solution, block trolls and ignore troll topics (or report as necessary). Not getting attention, or only getting the attention of other trolls will eventually bore them grin.png

honestly, like many others i came to this forum with one set and now have a few more because not only were members willing to share pictures but more than that...the insight and history that accompanied each set.  I completely ignored Russian/Eastern sets, but since joining the forum i have not only purchased a few NOJ sets, but sought out plastic Dubrovnik i and II sets online because the aesthetic just pleases my eye more.  I think that ignoring the trolls is the way to go, but as many have echoed...if there are calmer waters please advise and lets all sail over that way.

LOL! I have many interests and am a member of about 100 forums. Of those I go to 5 or 10 regularly. This is like a Sunday school picnic compared to a few a my most frequented ones. A thick skin won't cut it, you need a chitonous exoskeleton to survive. I like this forum and seeing the different chess sets people have and collect. I'm not even sure how one would troll here. oh I've seen some silly adolescent posts a few times. They are stupid and I ignore them.
