Aww, they look like they just filled their bellies and are taking a nap. They are charming and the shape somehow reminds me of russian nesting dolls.

Those are some well-fed knights! The royalty (King, Queen, and Bishops) on the other hand, look like they've been dieting.

I know I'm a little late to the party, but does anyone have any idea where the knight in the second photo of the original post is from? It's beautiful.
Edit: I did do a reverse image search and all I got was a pile of pinterest garbage with no source links.

I'm sorry I posted that so long ago I don't recall where I found it.

These are gorgeous! What set are these knights from?
And what about the knight below? The design looks like the knight from the Ulbrich chess set by The Chess Empire, but the wood is far more exotic than what they would use, so I imagine they based their design on wherever the knight below comes from.

It seems I found the first one! It’s Staunton Castle’s Warrior Series in antiqued boxwood. They look so much more stunning in your photo with the burgundy background.

I hope this thread is still open!
I bought this set in around 2002 at the Chess Forum on Thompson St in NYC. I believe I paid around $300. My understanding is that the black pieces are ebony. I know I picked the set for these handsome, very playable knights. This set, along with all my other chess sets has been in mothballs for many years, but recently I've rediscovered how much I enjoy them all. I did play a game with this set and it's a very satisfying experience. Here's a couple of photos of the knights.
PS - If anyone recognizes the set or knows the manufacturer or country of origin, I'd love to have that info! I stopped by the store where I bought them, but the attendant didn't go back that far.
One more pic showing all the white pieces:

Beautiful knights! They resemble some kind of dinosaur I think.

When some blundering royals just beg to be forked or a long-suffering pawn promoting to a queen just isn’t enough of a knightmare, these are your go-to guys, the ones that Get Stuff Done. (Pacific Game Company Cavalier Model 1477)
Beautiful collection, @LesuhAn!
Do you have a picture of the entire set from post #175?
I don't own any of these sets. I find them on Google. 😁
I found the one you mentioned here while.searching for chess knights:

However I just found another link that seems to reveal that they are pieces of art ("carved wooden statues") and are not part of a chess set, sorry!
