Maybe you know such a board?

Hello . I am interested in a chessboard with a lid. A cover to keep the position intact. I have a cat and he also loves to play chess.Mister Sean

First off you have to get your cat a book on positional play.  The knight on the back rank and then moving Kh8 is just not good although he appears to still have a lead in development.  Secondly you can lookup food covers which are relatively cheap.

Link to example given.

That's an utterly terrible remark and the thirteen year old idiot who brutalized and tortured to death my beloved cat is now twenty-five years old and serving a life sentence for first degree murder.   Karma....      8((

I have this to keep my cat out of my 18" borderless board. It is expensive though. I think it was over $250. I wanted to go to J Display but they had a 16 week waiting list back in 2019. https://www.displaycasej.com/chess-set-covers. I went to Shop Pop Display... https://www.shoppopdisplays.com/display-boxes-and-cases/custom-acrylic-boxes.html

The one from Shop Pop is ok but they guaranteed a 6-day turnaround time. It was the same price as J Display. I would not call Shop Pop's display museum quality but it keeps my cat out. My cat is 15 pounds and he sleeps on top of the case without issue. The case is 19"x19"x6".

There are other options if your board is smaller. I used a turntable acrylic cover with my 12" magnetic. It was $49. I also bought a 14" book display case from Amazon for my 14" board. It was $69.

That is really nice @MCH818.  Makes me wish I had something worth protecting in such a display case.

Thanks! But I think you probably have better chess stuff than me. You just don't have a cat that likes to bite chess pieces. He did that with my French Staunton set that was ether from Chess House or Chess USA. It was my fault for leaving it out.

Sorry for your loss.

Proof that people who are cruel to animals have something badly wrong with them.

Why do you post these things? What good do you expect to come from it?

Geez I was so focused on answering the OP's question I didn't realize you posted this. I am sorry to hear about that. Some people just have issues.

Dogs, cats, and other animals we adopt are like family. Losing one in any manner is terrible. I had to put down two cats and a dog. All were painful. I can't imagine what you went through.
