A few days ago I posted some of my blog posts about chess eBoards and my purchase of the Millennium ChessGenius Exclusive.  For anyone that is interested in eBoards in general or possibly considering this $599 eBoard, take a peek at this latest post as my "upgrades" are now done with it.

I added notation to the board itself and successfully replaced the pieces.  And it is working great.

My upgrades to the Millennium ChessGenius Exclusive.

Who would have thought that the piece recognition component would be hidden in the felt? The CEO kept mentioning “solenoid” in his interview with Chesshouse.com, so I thought it was similar to DGT’s technology and buried in the middle of every piece.

But honestly, how easy/hard was it to peel off each felt from the pieces using the bobby knife? And did you need to use another adhesive to stick the felt back to the pieces?

It wasn't hard.  I used a hobby knife and forceps (what non-medical people call tweezers).  Just use the knife to get between the felt and the food and develop the place slowly, then reach in with the forceps and pop it right off.  You will see the chip attached to the felt.  And then I just moved from one piece to the other.  Not very difficult, honestly.  And I didn't require any adhesive; they applied plent on the original felt.
