They're fantastic - can I buy some ?
need some opinions on new boards I printed
Just judging from those pics the boards appear to be made of varying materials. Is that top one carbon fiber, or is it just made to look like carbon fiber? The second seems to be ether leather or faux-leather. The just looks like the cheap plastic placemats of the type that you often find at "greasy spoon" diners.
Pretty sure they're all "automotive grade" vinyl; i.e. very high grade compared to the usual crap.

Ah yes. At first glance I did not notice the curving edges on the first and second photos.
how come no one make a analysis size silicone board.. i know almost everyone who play chess in real life have switched from vinyl board to 20 inch silicone board.

Well, this is not true at all.
Most people that I see, play with the vinyl board and not the silicone.
Understand that I have a silicone board with my Liberty Series set for skittles and blitz. But I also have vinyl and a few leather boards for all my other set-ups.
And there are quite a number of guys in my area that do own the silicone boards, but play with the vinyl instead.
Yes, the silicone boards are nice to scrunch or fold up. However the surface of the board is sticky so that you cannot slide any piece on the board as you can with vinyl, leather and wood boards.
Of course, I would like to see some vinyl 2.0" square sized boards being made.
By the way, the boards that Shelby is showing here are really nice. The gold ink really stands out on the boards of the various colors.
In fact I just received my UPS notice that 4 of these boards are magically being shipped to me. Hmm, I guess it's not magic if I ordered them. Or maybe it is...
well i play in cafe shop and they have small tables the standard 20 inch silicone board doesnt fit nicely on it.. small analysis board would fit but i dont like how vinyl board curl up when you unroll . i ordered a small 15 inch vinly from wholesalechess.. i hope it fit nicely on the small cafe tablet
They look great Shelby, are they the high quality vinyl we once had or is it the lesser quality auto vinyl which bears the same name but no longer premium as it once was?
sent a message to you. My choice of words was poor in the above question. I know you are the wholesaler of vinyl boards to chess retailers. Was just curious if these are the same as the chess fiber boards or the aluminum vinyl that Chess House sells. Thx.
Mike,
I am not sure how to answer your comment. Have you ordered premium boards from me in the past?
Shelby
Describe what the boards are made of!
Russ,
The boards are made of high quality automotive vinyl. They are considered reverse print chess boards because they are a dark material with printing for the light squares.
thanks
Shelby
Thank you!

Eyechess,
Did you get the boards? What colors did you order and can you share your impressions? thx.
This makes me want to try and produce my own board. I'm partial to wood but these vinyl boards are great for travel.
Yes, I did receive my boards. They look really nice.
One is a black with the gold colored printing. This board looks very sharp.
The one I like best of the bunch is a burgundy color with the gold printing. My standard Rosewood sets look really good on this board.
It's kind of late and I have those boards put away for now. When I get a chance in the next number of days I'll try to get some pictures.

Awesome, thanks for the update
I had a little trouble adding the pics. Here are some of them:
