White is setup on blacks side?

rooperi

Nothing wrong with anything, they should have just turned the board around.

akafett

They have the pieces on the wrong side. I have seen some that had the squares numbered completely backwards from BOTH sides. That is why I am not against pay a little more money for good quality.

It appears to be, yes. And vice versa. Unless I'm missing something?

You'd think if it had a Gold Award, they'd have got the setup right Undecided.

Queens are also on wrong color and the kings resemble Alec Baldwin.

adamplenty

I've just noticed - aren't the bishops facing the wrong way?

GSHAPIROY

Black king and queen - and coordinates

Birdie347

All you need to remember is "White on right and Queen on her own colour."

The Queen and King need to switch spots (for white and black.)

netzach

No.

The board co-ordinates would still be wrong.

Black & White pieces must swap sides.

discoweasel

And the kings would still look like Lizzie Borden.

That award is probably presided over by the CEO's 4-year-old kid.

fburton

One of the pawns is smaller.

adamplenty

Which one? They all look the same to me.

White is set up on black's end of the board. Kind of a dumb mistake for a photograph, especially since the board has coordinate labels!

Plus the black king and queen are mixed up. Looks like kind of a cheap set. (snobbishly) :)
