I'm a chess set.
Are you a repro?
Here's my newest set - an old Russian Soviet one, built in Leningradskaya Oblast' sometime in the 1980s. Beat up, no top-markings for the king and queen, but very hefty. This set's got a ton of scratches, but a lot of character. :)

Great set, K. Thanks for posting!

Thanks, cgrau!
Another Russian one, I believe - a tiny magnetic 'pocket' set that I bought from a local store here in Yelets, Russia. King height is approximately .90 in. Magnets work great, except for one stubborn bugger that I had to glue back in :P
Perfect for (space) travel.
I occasionally take this one to the library so that I can sit and study. :)
Hello everyone,
As a newcomer, let me introduce myself:
Recently "liberated" after being "trapped" for fifteen years in a body that does not listen to me too much ... (If you are familiar with "Sleeping Beauty" ... she's like me, exept I'm really more ugly :) ) I rediscover with great pleasure the ability to concentrate, so to be able, after long years, playing chess again and enjoy the beauty of a chessboard dressed with his pieces finely creates.
In late December 2015, I own only the old board, stowed under my bed with Italian pieces, which I had bought from "Variantes" à Paris, there are about 45 years ...
Today, as a kid for which it is (for now / thank you doctor;)) Christmas every day... I acquired, a dozen of used chessboards of all kinds and all colors.
Let me enjoy myself to introduce some of my new "toys" like the 57 years old kid I am today...Thank you.
First picture is the one i call: "The Magnifique"
It is a huge set, King is 12,7 cm 108 gr, and it is a very classic set as in the old time when Red was The Black...
(And i will post at the end a photo on how these chessmen are so unique...)
Here's a non-gloss RF board I paired with an ebonized boxwood set I bought from a completely different store:
What can I say? I love walnut boards, but blue is my favourite colour!
I'm a chess set.
