I don't own one but I have played a bit on ZMF II clocks. Indoors you won't really have a problem with telling if the light is on or not. The problem is that outdoors this clock is very susceptible to glare. Think of it as trying to read your phone outside on a bright day as opposed to inside. As far as the touch sensors are concerned you don't have to worry about anything. I have played on this clock in the waning hours where the temperature would drop from 60°'s to 40°-50° and never had a problem with it registering my cold hands.

I appreciate your feedback, KineticPawn. What you wrote about the touch sensors and the top lights is reassuring. I hadn't thought at all of the outdoor glare aspect you mentioned, which sounds like it could be a real annoyance. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.
Hi, I'm an older adult beginner buying my first chess clock. I'm leaning toward getting the ZMF II with the green LED display and green case. It seems to have the features I need for OTB play, looks nice, and is attractively priced. I have two questions about it which I'd really like to get some input on before ordering it. I've never used a chess clock with touch sensors before, only ones with buttons or rockers. My hands unfortunately are usually quite cold, and I'm concerned this will prevent the touch sensor from registering quickly and properly. (I often have a bit of an issue with elevators in buildings, because the touch sensors for summoning them or choosing a floor don't seem to respond promptly to my icy fingertips.) Also, regarding the lights on top of the clock that signal whose turn it is, I'm wondering if the green light will show up well against the green case. In photos, the green "turn" light seems more visible in the version with the black case/green LEDs, but I'd prefer the clock with the more colorful case. Any opinions and suggestions would be very welcome, thank you!
