Taller rooks.

The FIDE material regulations require the rook to be the second dwarfest piece of the equipment (among other rules they are not complying whit their current official set).

In México; rook is usually a slim and elegant piece, although generally shorter than a pawn. In the rest of the world (except for some other exceptions) the rook is usually a fat an dwarven piece; even in some plastic modes is shorter than pawns too.

Personally. Between my sets, my favorite is my HOS Renegade. Apart from the oat spikes in the bishops; there are those tall towers that look far away.

Which leads me to ask; Why the second most powerful piece has to look like a mushroom compared to the restricted, but always sylized knight; or the drab bishop?

If I may ask what year was your  HOS "Renegade" set obtained? Impressive set and what is the name of the second pictured set? Is this set available anywhere? Much thanks...Jorge.
