What should I buy?

Whats the other? the ocean property?

Scottrf

I'll add a vote for diamond membership. The videos and chess mentor are really good.

If you do Danny Rensch's endgame courses (pawn and rook endgames), along with mating patterns you should learn a lot (and they are entertaining). And there are a lot of different chess mentor courses.

I know, username made me laugh.

I must have missed something... no clue what that is. Yeah, the ocean property... I'm not really considering the "Other" section.

  1. Software: 5
  2. Other: 5
  3. Membership: 5
  4. Books: 3

An exciting 3 way tie now! ;)

Oh, and thanks, kamuimaru. Didn't know what you guys were talking about.

Looking at the comments, it does seem that people think the videos and mentor alone would be worth 50 dollars extra.

I double vote for books

I'll give you one vote (not 2), which puts books with 4 votes in second place.

e+chess comes with free download of Chess Fundamentals by Capablanca and Silman's end game course.

Everyman have loads of interactive books like Vukovic's The Art of Attack.

You will need a PGN reader to read them on. If you do not have a commercial software programme,  Chessbase viewer/Chessbase light are  free downloads and you can read them on that.

Is that only on apple products Rubes?

And another vote for diamond membership...For all the reasons given already I consider it probably the best $100 I spend all year.  I'd probably spend it just for access to Danny Rensch's live session videos, but the Chess Mentor courses have most of my books gathering dust.  Some of the early courses didn't always take advantage of the format, but lately they've been knocking them out of the park.

Ruby-Fischer

E+Chess I think is only ipad/ iphone.

Everyman Chess books are for windows and ipad.

Ruby-Fischer

I like Daniel Rensch, very informative and entertaining. I could do without the cockney accent.Smile

Youtube also has plenty of great free videos.

Scottrf

Rensch is my (chess) hero.

e+ Chess, Chess Fundamentals is free, but Silmans Endgame Course is not. I had to pay for it just this week in fact, and I'm reading it now.

Ruby-Fischer

Ok, I can't remember, had it a long time now. My mistake

All that stuff does look pretty cool! Since I have an iPod, not any Android stuff, it does help me. So right now membership is winning with 6! I guess I'll still be taking votes until I get more money, when I have to decide.
