...pawn levers? It seems a rather complex field? Here is a post where 12 types of levers are discussed.

There's a real good book out called " Power of pawns in chess " by Hans Kmoch. I read it last year. It is one of the best pawn book out to learn and study on pawns. There's a website www.chesslessons.net. I order a bundle set of dvd's by IM Dr. Danny Kopec. He has a bundle of 10 videos and six are on pawns. If you buy the dvd set he gives you a bonus of the 2nd edition of his middlegame book. He promotes the book power of pawns. His dvd's are worth getting and you will learn everything on levers, passed pawns, doulbled, hanging. There's a lot of knowledge to learn on pawns. If you don't want to buy the dvd's you can check out you tube on chess lessons on pawns. The dvd's are under $100. I have the book, too. Check them both out. John Moyer/ tinman5150

Move a pawn if it makes your pieces more active.

Any extra information is needless waffle at the class level. Kmoch's book especially.

There's old saying that the more you know about pawns, rooks knights  the chessboard. Etc. Kmowledge is power. You're never going to know everything on the chess board. There is more to pawns that you ever imagine. Without pawns, chess is meaning less. Pawns are another queen, rook and supports your major pieces. Good luck. I'm just trying to be helpful with some information.
