We dont play main lines just because we dont know them, and dont want/dont have time to study them. I just want to have some fun when I play a game, so study hard a twenty-some variation is not part of it.

True and if you are going to study or do something "quick" why not hammer out a few tactics.  A probably well known little fun fact is that you can miss simple tactics that you'd think that you wouldn't miss and if you'd miss them in your puzzles then you'd miss them in your real games as well.
