I use the dutch defense againsy d4
1.d4 f5 I use the stonewall dutch
I find Grunfeld to be very useful, Kings indian is a very agressive reply i also use, you can also transpose into modern defense with g6, e4. Also benoni defense with benko gambit if you choose. Dutch defense lenigrad, although i dont love it because of the exposure to your king through the f7 diagonal.
Sorry to restart an old thread but I really need an aggressive opening against the Queen's Pawn. Is there something like the Apocalpyse Attack from Caro-Kann?
I need a strong opening that will maximize my chances for a win. Not a draw. (Mostly openings that are called [Name] Attack)
Lol, none of you ever considered the gruenfeld. I used that opening and carried myself to 2200+. It gives an open game with good counterplay in the center.
There is no best defense. Just play the right opening then play chess in the middle game. Chess is played in the middle game. When we say right opening: these are the lines in the opening book. Don't rely on engines in the opening. The use of engine in the opening is for blunder check (example is opening traps). . . .

Aggressive against 1.d4 = Leningrad Dutch or perhaps Benko Gambit. Both can be fun to play. But you need to really learn them - that is, the themes, plans and strategies....

Neil McDonald's "The Benko Gambit Revealed" is a good introduction to the Benko....

According to GM Neil McDonald, "When you play the Benko Gambit, you set White the astonishingly difficult task of exploiting the extra pawn...the onus is therefore on White to 'do something'. This is too much pressure for most players, even Grandmasters, and the thing they 'do' is often horrendous".
"Attack With Black" by Valery Aveskulov....
a complete (gambit) repertoire against 1.d4 featuring the Benko (primarily), Blumenfeld and Vaganian gambits. Possibly the most fun (with good chances) you can have as Black attacking against 1.d4...

The Alterman Gambit Guide: Black Gambits 1 by Boris Alterman....
features the same openings as covered in Aveskulov's book - i.e., Benko, Blumenfeld, and Vaganian Gambits. Very Instructive.
