imho if you want quicker development in caro-kann you need to do an exchange variation where you take the e pawn. I used to play sicilian but lately switched almost exclusively to caro-kann.
This is not an opening where you would play fast and look for a tactical battle right away.
I like it because you can play it a bit slower, build up pressure and look for your chances. I don't play exchange variation much.This style suits me personally. I kind of got used to under-developped pieces and I am not worried too much if my c bishop is not out by move 4-5.
Maybe if you are not patient enough, this opening is not for you. I am saying it without any disrespect. There are openings that are not for me and I don't use at all.
I am now personally struggling to find a 3-4 openings that I'd like as white :) That said, I just started playing chess after not playing a single game in 7 years.
Hi i need help i used to play caro kann i think ill try doing it again but im having problems developing pieces on my kingside and i never sort of figured out how also im scared im in danger in my kingside it looks sort of weak how do i castle that side
Help me if im not doing this correctly is this a good position and HOW DO I CASTLE KINGSIDE?
