Danish Gambit Accepted - Herr Fritz recommends...

I have just withdrawn with regret from the Danish Gambit Accepted tournament (http://www.chess.com/tournament/danish-gambit-accepted5)   because I am away on holiday at the start of June and it is a 'No Vacation' tournament.

Here is some pre-tournament preparation helped by Herr Fritz:

[Event "FICS rated blitz game"] [Site "FICS, San Jose, California US"] [Date "2012.10.18"] [White "DavidMMIX"] [Black "amitgal"] [Result "1-0"] [ECO "C21"] [Annotator "Ewing,David (using Fritz 12)"] [PlyCount "55"] [TimeControl "120+12"]

({Better was }7... O-O 8. O-O Bxd2 9. Qxd2 Nxe4 10. Qd3 {10. Qf4 d5 11. Rfd1 c6 is excellent for Black} d5 {10... Nf6 loses to 11. Ng5} 11. Bxd5 Nf6 12. Bxf6 Qxf6 13. Rfe1 c6 (13... Na6) 14. Bb3 (14. 8. Nxd2

(8. Qxd2 Nxe4 9.Qd5 Qe7 10. O-O {is roughly level.  Fritz suggests} c6 11. Qd4 d5 12. Qxg7 Rf8 13. Bd3 f5 14. Qxe7+ Kxe7 15. Ba3+ {when Black can either try Nd6 to hang on to the material, or Ke8 handing back the exchange for a quiet life and rough equality.})

8... Nc6 9. O-O d6 10. Re1 Ne5 11. Bb3 Nd3 12. Bxf7+ Kf8 13. Qb3 Nxe1 14. Rxe1 Qe7 15. Bc4 a6 16. Re3 b5 17. Bd5 Nxd5 18. exd5 Qd8 19. Rf3+ Kg8 20. Qc3 Qe7 21. Re3 Qf7 22. Qc6 Bb7 23. Qxb7 Rf8 24. Rf3 Qe7 25. Rxf8+ Kxf8 26.Qc8+ Kf7 27. Qxh8 Qe1+ 28. Nf1 {Black resigns} 1-0

This game (or rather, Fritz' analysis in the annotations) formed the basis of my pre-tournament preparation with Black.  I decided that the Copenhagen Defence 6...Bg4+ should be OK for Black even though in practice it has scored poorly.  I mixed it with the Schlechter Defence.

Jonathan, thanks.  I am heavily committed with non-chess activities at the moment, but I'll come back to you on this later.  Will it be a double-round two simultaneous (Danish in one Traxler in the other) followed by the same with colours reversed?

Cheers, David

MonkeyH thanks.  Stirring game.  Where does it come from - did you play it?

Thanks, cheers, David
