okay so, playin a somewhat instructive game of chess with a friend, game went e4 e6 d4 d5 Nc3 Bb4, the winawer. im not too knowledgable on french theory, especially the winawer, but it seems to me that Qg4 wins a pawn by force. i can see a good amount of compensation for black based on ideas of Bxc3 dxe4, Qxd4, etc, and yet it would appear there is no immediate way for black to equalize. someone please correct me because i know this is a stupid question!

i think black is doing more than ok 4 Qg4 Nf6 5.Qxg7 Rg8 6.Qh6 and Nxe4

ah. now i see blacks equality, as the Night on f6 controls g8 for the rook to swing in, gaining time on the queen and a good spot on the semi-open g file. like i said, knew there had to be a simple remedy, just couldnt see it. thanks
