    Veresov: 1.d4 d5 or Nf6 followed by 2.Nc3

The most fresh and sound opening is Jobava's attack.

This was considered bad for over a century. It was almost a beginner's mistake to play London system with Nc3 or Richter Veresov with Bf4.

Not anymore. One of the most creative players in the world,  Baadur Jobava ,proved it's perfectly playable.

This opening has no theory , no books and not even a name.

Some call it Jobava Prie attack , some Jobava Rapport and some just Jobava attack.

Let's try and keep the openings somewhat realistic.

Of course because the 2Nc3, 3Bf4 thing is somewhat trendy now players playing black will study it more and it will lose it's suprise value. For example, it has already been looked at seriously in the "1d4 d5 classical rep" book.

Meanwhile Jobava, Rapport etal will move on to something else. It shouldn't be that hard to find something sound for white, if develop peices sensibly.

Those that subscribe to section 8 of chesspublishing.com will know that there is a line with an early Bd6 that is causing major problems for White in the Jobava-Prie and the ball is in White's court right now.

That setup with Nc3/Bf4 really only works when Black fianchettoes the DSB, which is a different opening all together.

    Barry Attack - 1.d4 Nf6 2.Nf3 g6 3.Nc3 d5 (3...d6 4.e4 is a Pirc) 4.Bf4.

i don't see the point of your post if u don't give the variation...

    Why don't u share it?

And why top players continue to play this as white if it is not so good?
