Help on Sicilian Defense, beginner !

Hi everyone,

I've recently started playing chess, and because i'm someone serious i've been studying openings as the sicilien defense that i really like as black.

I don't have any problem when whites follow the line but sometime, the white players respond as they were playing giuoco piano or a kind of Italian game without any consideration for my C5 move.

So the game goes for example :

1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 d6 3.Bc4  Nf6 4.d3 e6 5.O-O Nc6

I guess playing the italian game is not the right answer to c5. Is there a way to punish this strange play by the white? How can i take any advantages?

Thanks for your response and sorry for my english :)

You can't really punish him for that.  His play is fine.  e6 is generally the prescription for dealing with an early Bc4, but after 2...d6, the threat that you'll play d5 in one go is gone, so white has time to redirect the bishop via Bb3, c3, and Bc2, for example, when play will resemble an Italian game.  Meaning more often than not, white will redirect both his knights over to the kingside, attempt a slow buildup over there, and eventually try to attack your castled king.  Obviously, that plan can change based on actual moves.

You're doing fine in the line you give above, and it's not critical, but it leads to a playable middlegame for both sides.  Not much else you can do.

Ok ! thanks for your answer. I'm a little bit disappointed that there is no way to crush the white :D

Play a hedgehog against him.  At least that can crush his spirit.
