opening trap

icyboyyy

In the four knights scotch, there's a trap that many people I play against fall for:

Instead of 6. ...O-O, or any other blunder black plays, the best moves are 6. ...Bb6, or 6. ...Bxd4.

Had a similar trap in one of my games but it was a check.

Yeah that is a common trap in the Scotch. Couldn't you transpose to the line Fabi and Magnus played in the Scotch with Qf6?

My move order is

e4 Nf6 Nc3 e5 Nf3 Nc6 d4 Bb4

Imagine transposing into the Vienna and then not playing the Vienna gambit -___-

B1ZMARK

I’m black

DaBabysBurner

yeah I mean for white like why would you play that bs

B1ZMARK

Many people play the four knights because I score very well against the Vienna gambit

icyboyyy

imagine transposing to the vienna in the first place -_-

2... d5 is equal but gives white too much fun. 2...Nc6 just almost loses
