Correction and additional commentary for Black’s third move...

3.Qa5!! { Don’t mess with old school }

I know very little theory in this line, but 7.d5 looks interesting. After 14. Bb3 White would seem to have the usual slight advantage that he gets in any decent opening. 14.Nf4 seems to be a blunder, probably based on some creative idea that just doesn't work in real life

Scandinavia defense is tough one to crack, its pawn structure is similar to the Caro-Kann.

ivanchuk is a beast. flip a many sided die and that will tell you whether he will play anywhere from 2400 to 2900.

Reminds me of myself, if you subtract 1000 from those numbers. meh.png

The rating difference doesn't matter. Either it is a mighty dragon or a tiger, a beast is always a beast!

I wrote a book on this line [for Black] and won many games with this line [for Black]  If White knows what he is doing--he can get an advantage.

Wei Yi didn't know what he was doing. He still has a lot to learn!

We all have a lot to learn. In another opening I wrote a book on [The Ponziani] the #1 player in the United States recently played Black against the Ponziani and quickly got a losing position.
