It's a fine presentation with well thought out challenges; no wonder you're excited. I might even get off my lazy butt and do the rest of the series...

your right,my friend,this is kinda deep for a first timer like me,but,man o man,this is awesome stuff!!!!!!and my interest is a little bit higher after Mr.williams said something like "you cant win a game often without getting all of your pieces in the game DEVELOPED,DEVELOPED,DEVELOPED...and i think kasparovs development of his army and relentless offensive proves that point,not to mention what black shows us in the undevelopment of his pieces,correct?thank you for replying,pfren,and also baddogno!hey,could you please throw some good study suggestions my way?i am doing all the featured chess.com study materials,the study plan directory,the study lessons,the puzzles,practice,etc...
IM pfren is of course correct. Still, there is something to be said for the "running around like a kid in a candy store" approach to learning chess in the beginning. It will soon become apparent as you play some more games that as intellectually satisfying as advanced study may be, a more fundamental approach is necessary. Until then though, just enjoy yourself!

Also @madmike1497 you should try to implement what you learn and see in puzzles/lessons into your chess games. For example, fish (lol) for nothing but the Italian game, then play Evans gambit whenever you can to get familiar.
greetings,stOnkfish....hey,its never too late to restart broken selves,brother,and that is spoken from the heart of a fellow "broken self"....thank you for the words of encouragement,also.and yes,i am already trying out the evans gambit on a few folks who will let me,brother!this game is giving me a passion i cant explain at this timebut i can also see how my thirst and quest for every single item of chess related information can be distracting at times,when i should be doing more of what got guys like you so good in the first place......hands on,down in the trenches hard work and PRACTICE,PRACTICE,PRACTICE!!!which is what im loving right now...by the way,can you gimmie a primer on what the ratings system is all about when it comes to the awesome world of chess ??like,whats the deal with this classical,rapid,blitz stuff?

wow,i have just entered the exciting world of chess,and my first lesson is being taught to me on the all important opening salvos of the chess game by GM Simon Williams!!!I didnt know what to expect when i found Chess.Com,but iam being blown away.I will stop in later with more on The Evans Gambit,thank you to all who have worked so tirelessly to put this whole world of chess loving community members together here at chess.com.ive never been more intellectually stimulated,and ive only just begun to scratch the surface!!!now if only my skill level could match my enthusiasm!!!!
