What's your favorite king pawn defense and queen pawn defense?

zingsanity007

If you do not have one, that's all right. Just type in "I do not have one". I was just wondering what players like to play as black. My favorite King's pawn defense is the Sicilian Najdorf with e7-e6.

My favorite Queen's pawn defense is the King's Indian.

I agree with both in the OP.  however, in Blitz games, I will stay away from the Kings Indian Defense and try to play more of a QGD game.  More open lines is better for blitz.

Kernicterus

I think I always play Sicilian to e4 and for Queen or English, I respond with KID.

Cystem_Phailure

Playing against a Queen's pawn start, I've been feeling most comfortable lately with a Nimzo-Indian (1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 e6 3.Nc3 Bb4) or Anti-Nimzo-Indian (3.Nf3 c5).

I've given up responding to 1.d4 with 1...d5.  When I do, once White plays 2.c4 it doesn't seem to matter what I do, I get in trouble. Laughing

I also like the Najdorf Variation of the Sicilian Defense.

As black, I usually aim for a Nimzo-Indian, Bogo-Indian, Grunfeld Defense, or Benoni Defense (wide repertoire, sorry, haha)

Wow!  I'll have to start looking into the Caro-Kann.  I like the idea of playing 5 consecutive Brilliant Moves!! Cool
