This was a big event---there were newsmen all over the place. There should be photographs galore. And I cant find any photos of Bobby receiving the symbolic key to the the city (big cardboard key painted gold).
I know he turned down a ticker tape parade through the streets of NYC and I am beginning to believe he turned down the key to the city as well . Perhaps he was content to receive the gold medal and be done with the ceremony. He didnt like ceremony, he didnt like newsmen, and he seemed very uncomfortable during the brief proceedings. I am beginning to believe he did not receive a key to the city for there should be a photo some place.
Can anyone turn up a photo ?
I have read many times where Fischer received the key to the city from mayor Lindsay in 72'. I dont think I've ever seen a photo of Bobby receiving the key. The only photo I ever see is Mayor Lindsay giving Bobby a gold medal. Can anyone post the photo of Bobby receiving the Key?
