After Magnus two 11 game and 9 game winning streaks I may retract my statement.
Hikaru Nakamura is better than Magnus Carlsen?
Magnus, Mangus is the better player. At everything maybe except bullet. Magnus carlsen's elo is about 68 elo higher than hikaru at peak. Regularly they have a 50-60 elo gap. Which is a lot. Magnus carlsen is the highest ranked and best at playing chess player, even over kasparov. Carlsen may be a bit worse at bullet, but certainly not at the game! Certainly not the game! Carlsen is much better player at classical, its not just his ranking but his play and style!
Plus carlsen destroys hikaru most of the time and hikaru is having trouble beating him most of the time. Except once when carlsen blundered, only once though
for any type of chess, even if carlsen is having a bad day, he can at least draw and certainly wont lose to people like hikaru, or anyone else including kasparov
Plus hikaru is never the world chess champion at classical, so you cant say hikaru is better, we can see why carlsen is better by just looking at their game and data, not just the rating. Plus carlsen is rated 3257 currently blitz, while hikaru is only 10 poitns ahead, hikaru loses 30 points if he loses a lot of games. so their leaderboard is constantly changing. Plus hikaru is only rated 2780 for rapid, while carlsen is 2939 currently. Carlsen is 2839 elo, while hikaru is only 2782 elo. See the huge 57 elo gap? Hikaru is nothing but garbage compared to Carlsen in my opinion. Hikaru wont beat CARLSEN! HE WON'T! HE WONT!!!!!!!!!
Does anyone have the total online score between Magnus and Hikaru? Surely they must've played a few hundred speed games on several websites combined. I'm guessing the majority of which would've been on here.
Oh Ok, Magnus has only played a few thousand. Do you guys think Magnus is past his peek? It seems he had 2 peaks based on Gotham videos.

They've played 149 games on chess.com. Carlsen has 52 wins 55 draws 40 losses... which doesn't add to 149 so there were 2 aborted games or something?
Anyway 52 + (55/2) / 147 = 54%. Carlsen scores better.
Which isn't surprising... but would be if all you knew about chess was from chess.com news headlines which, over the last 10 years or so, have relentlessly reported on anything Hikaru does as if he's the best ever.
You can do the search yourself for free. It's easy. I'm too lazy to break it up by bullet, blitz, etc. so I just did all together.

And on their OTB matches, I believe Magnus has won more so its clearly Magnus.
It's a little more lopsided than that. In classical OTB games they've played 41 times. Naka has only beat Carlsen once (and had 26 draws).

Only 149 on this site? I wouldt have thought they'd played online alot more frequently than that!
Yeah, you post a lot of crazy stuff, so it's not surprising you didn't know...
Before chess.com acquired the Play Mangus Group, Carlsen and Chess.com were business rivals. Carlsen played on Chess24.
Another fun fact. Carlsen has been rated over 2800 FIDE every day since he was 18 years old. Nakamura only broke 2800 once in his life, very briefly (immediately falling back down) and this was in 2015.
The two really aren't comparable.
They're comparable in how they defeat other top GMs in dozens of consecutive games. What other crazy stuff do I post? I'm one of the most well-known common sense oracles on this site's forum.
He had some poor performance in between the two peaks. Like he had several weeks of winning tournaments but I'm between he'd miss a mate in 3 or blunder a rook..etc.
Also in bullet, magnus is ranked #1 in the world in both blitz and bullet. Magnus bullet is 3300, while hikaru is only near 3200.
Chess.com rating is irelevant
