Depends
Would Fischer even have won in 75?
Or again in 78?
Anatoly was a beast.
And then there is the other thing to consider. Fischer's consistency.
When Fischer was in the zone he was unstoppable. And I do mean unstoppable.
Trouble was, when he wasn't in that zone, bad things seemed to happen to him.
Would he have been able to find that "zone" in 85?

Whats that? 10 vs 1?check the youtube documentaries!he was that good!when fischer peaked he was dominant in tournaments.i didnt see magnus doing that.at least i didnt see him winning 20 straight games vs GMs like what fischer did!thats insane! I rest my case...
Fischer not playing in 75 only strengthened his legacy. In fact it affected Karpov because the poor bloke had to enter every tourny to prove he was worthy of being a champion. And then he gets overshadowed by Kasparov. Tough luck.
I'm not in denial and I don't have a cause. You see there is this web site called chessgames.com. You can go over all these games for free. I've been over these games. I own a chess library.
Facts are facts. You are degenerate.
Fischer beat an off form Spassky that didn't prepare and was rattled by his antics.
Karpov beat Spassky worse than Fischer. Spassky was in the form of his life when he did it, and Karpov was recovering from the flu.
Fischer did beat many drawn endgames out of people. Fischer's primary means of winning any chess game was thuggery.
Go run his games through an engine. It's painfully obvious that you've never done this.
I'm fairly sure that in all my years of chess playing, you, a class A player with no actual direct experience with Fischer's play OTB, or indeed any connection to Fischer at all, are the only person to ever spout this "brawn over brains" premise, or to use the word thuggery in this context.
Might I kindly suggest that you are talking out your hindquarters and don't know jack? You've gone over some games with an engine. I hate to shatter your world view, but you cannot extrapolate how Fischer "beat down" his opposition with his physical stamina from pouring over a game in your engine. Maybe you could point out for us a game where Fischer won from a losing position using these physical attributes? Show us the engine line where his browbeating demeanor completely overwhelmed his opponent, who crumbles, not merely by their own failings and fears, but by being coerced by the sheer power of the Fischer physique you are so keen on letting us know about.
What you are engaging in is something that we human beings call "imagining". You have a pet theory, you don't like Fischer as a chess player and denigrate his mental abilities, but somehow you seem to obsess over his body and feel his body was so far and away better than his opponents that he could use it to win the day in a game where brains are very clearly paramount.
One can only speculate about where this comes from, and why you are such an angry young man...calling people idiots and degenerates etc. and generally lashing out at the world around you. Look at this case...you are telling me a bunch of *cough* "facts" that are not even arguing with anything I have said here. I'm pretty darn sure that I didn't even express my opinion of Fischer vs. Karpov, or the match with Spassky, or...
"Facts are facts. You are degenerate."
Your juxtaposition here is rather unfortunate...see, "you are [a] degenerate" would be a perfect example of something you can't actually determine to be a fact, which shows us all in a microcosm how your brain works, and calls into question all your other "facts".
Perhaps there's something buried deep inside you that you need to come to terms with. Again, good luck in your journey to understanding and self-esteem.
I didn't even bother to finish reading your crap. Again, nice blitz rating.
Translation: "I read every word...of course I did. I couldn't come up with jack for several days but I couldn't just let things go. either, because I'd lose too much face. So...here's my half-assed response pretending I don't care."
P.S. You would probably have gotten along with Fischer. He had a giant ego and couldn't let things go either.

I really didn't finish reading your crap and I didn't reply for several days because I have over 100 games going. This is easy to verify. Have a nice life.
Thats hard you are talking about our 2 GOATS !!
Yeah me and Wesley So we have the same GOATs !!
Fischer 1st !!!
Kasparov a close 2nd !!
He said so while in Tata Steel India
What a co incidence !!! 😅😅😅
I think Kasparov was a better player than Fischer, but in a large way, chess had changed by then. Fischer was old school, where the best players could out think their opponent, while Kasparov was the leader in a new style taking chess by storm: positional play.
Positional play has been highly refined over the decades, but it's still the primary way chess is played today, even at lower levels of chess. If your USCF rated over 1300, then your playing at some level of positional play. Any chess lesson for a level for 1400+ player that's not straight tactics is almost always going to touch upon the long range reasons for whatever moves the lesson is going over.
