Lasker, for the following reasons:a)He held the world championship longer than anyone,27 years.A record unlikely to be broken IMO.b)He had an interesting personality, was a mathematician and clearly liked other things too besides chess.c)He was the supreme Master of defense. One of the most tenacious chess players of all time-if not the most tenacious.d)He was probably stronger as a player during the second half of his life,a very rare occurrence indeed.e)His chess style remains somewhat enigmatic and impenetrable,in a way he had no style.f)He was obviously a very keen psychologist,as he was able to play those very moves that would especially unsettle his opponents.g)He was Tal's hero. h)He recognised Capa as the greatest chess genius("I have known many chess players but only one genius,Capablanca.")

Lasker yes. I like this guy!

I would say Kasparove because of his aggressive and imaginative style. Nakamura is also very imaginative and daring, so i like him as well.

Well my favourite s the Magician of Riga - Mikhail Tal Yes bobby fischer played very deep and sound games, but it was Tal's magic that got me hooked to chess. Tal is the best, if there is a posistion found hopeless by a gm Tal could pull a bunny out of the board.!!!

My favorite living chess player is Vishy Anand. He is a machine! Always sharp, always tactical, and the greatest rapid player ever!

My favorite chess player from the past is Capablanca. He just made it look so easy!

It was hard to pick a favorite, but I had some.  But, nowadays, GM Susan Polgar is my favorite player.  After a long saga, at the time, just before being here regularly, but after terminating my account because of him, there was a favorite, who to me, is a GM.  And, I once considered him the best player in the world, as he told me that he, easily, beat Carlson through the Carlson App being four or five pawns down early which I no longer believe to be true.

However, I permanently blocked him about two months ago, for the same reason that other's have blocked him.  But, now, as a replacement, my favorite has become GM Susan Polgar.  That is because I have, successfully, signed up for a chess course by her.  I hope it's the right one because it says novices, which I'm not.  But, I signed up because it also menitoned something else I was having problems with which is seeing the entire board without a mistake and planning accurately without miscalculations.  And, that is something I need work on, regardless.  In addition, as you might have seen, she has shown some very good annotations.

First, the one that I copied and pasted is my favorite of all time, as noted because it has more varations then any other annotation that I've studied.  Second, this took me longest to read all of that, which was over a day, and almost a week to play through everything.  Third, it's the first time in history where I was able to start absorbing information, before playing through all the variations.  The more I studied, though, the more familar it became to me.  Finally, it is also the first time where things started becoming second nature to me, right after playing through the lines.  That is because in a completely different annotation shortly after, I connected a pattern of piece sac for a dangerous pawn.

My favorite active chess players are Magnus Carlsen, Vishy Anand, and Anish Giri.

My favorite chess player other than those three is Anatoly Karpov.

Tal.

Similar to Fischer, but without the mental baggage!

“The cherished dream of every chessplayer is to play a match with the World Champion. But here is the paradox: the closer you come to the realization of this goal, the less you think about it.” - Mikhail Tal

“To play for a draw, at any rate with white, is to some degree a crime against chess.” - Mikhail Tal

“Of course, errors are not good for a chess game, but errors are unavoidable and in any case, a game without errors, or as they say 'flawless game' is colorless.” - Mikhail Tal

“There are two types of sacrifices: correct ones, and mine.” - Mikhail Tal

Lots, but if I were to pick one it would be Paul Morphy. Not only because of his skill on the 64 squares, but his personality too. He was the perfect champion.
