mate, right now, your goal is to become 1200 ELO. Then 1600. And so on, til grandmaster. Don't set huge goals like that right now, set smaller goals and you'll improve, little by little

idk

O-O

There are probably a lot of things that go into becoming a grandmaster, though like the main thing you have to get in order to become a grandmaster is grandmaster norms which can only be achieved by playing in over the board tournaments.

Jenium

1. Become good at chess.

2. Play FIDE rated tournaments

3. Get your rating to 2500 and 3 GM norms.

As already mentioned in the thread, yes.

Reach 2500 Fide ELO and get 3 grandmaster norms.

If you manage these two conditions, you will be awared the grandmaster title by Fide, and keep it for the rest of your life, no matter how low your ELO falls afterwards, unless you get caught cheating.

Fide ELO

You get these two backwards.

FIDE should be written with all caps, because it is an acronym: Fédération Internationale des Échecs (International Chess Federation is French).

Elo should not be written with all caps, because it is not an acronym: it's the name of the inventor.

If you're 6 years old and decide to focus on chess for the next 10-15 years, you have good chances.

no. you dont. and you never will have a 'good' chance. there are more than 600 million active chess platers in the world. less than 2,000 are GMs. Do the math.

Tongue in cheek, because these are super hard conditions.
