Daily games aborting because opponent doesn't move

I recently started playing daily games. First several games were fine. But recently I've noticed I'm getting paired with opponents that don't make a move and game aborts. It's happened 3 or 4 times in a row. I don't want to message the opponent, since they have 2 or 3 days to make a move. But I just end up waiting and the game aborts. Is this common? Any work-arounds?

I just discovered these settings under Custom setup which will probably help weed out opponents who won't start or finish game:

I choose a larger number for "games played." At least 10. And if you ever enter a daily tournament, make sure it is a "no vacation" tournament. I ignored this, and I waited over a month for a guy to move, because he was "on vacation," yet he was playing blitz and bullet every day.

Even outside of tournaments, I don't know why chess.com can't include "no vacation" in the settings for individual games. Can't be a $500 development task, with coding and testing included. Vacation is the bane of daily chess. The worst thing about it.

A lot of players don't really understand what Daily games are and start them not realizing and they just time out.

@martin_stahl I thought that might be part of the problem. I think the controls above should help weed out those players.
