2 weeks; are they here to play or ruin the site.
Forum Nonsense!

Agreed; I don't know what would be a reasonable time. Even thou its 4am on the east coast, somewhere in the world its 3pm.

you couldnt cut it all out 100%, waiting 2 weeks would stop a lot of it. I guess real tenacious spammers could be making accounts every day and after 2 weeks they could keep going through them, it's kinda effort though and they'd have to keep notes, i'm sure most people couldn't be bothered.
When I first joined here, I wanted to play games and check out tactics trainer etc, pretty sure I didn't post anything for quite a while.
If you've got issues or wanna ask questions, you can always go into live chess and ask an admin.

When you 1st joined; most people, myself included are like that. We're normal. The 2 week, or 1 week, would do away with a lot of the childish nonsense. If they wait 2 weeks just to be negative, then there's just something wrong with THOSE people.

Never played a game of Online Chess in my life. Live Chess games only. A lot of people are the same. So maybe the criteria should be x games of Live *or* x games of Online.
Not that I'm given to creating much in the way of what is optimistically labelled 'content' here anyway . . .

A problem with waiting some days or a number of games, is that people that are just learning to play could feel bad if they don't know where to ask simple questions.

I started off only playing live, I tried online later on and found my games (and rating) improved. Also, starting a 30 min game then finding out your gf wants you to go out/do something is a bummer (no one ever lets me cancel out of the game, I find if people know you need to go out they'll wait and yum up the free easy ratings points)

If one is interested in the site, they could look at old posts to possibly answer their question. The site offers quite a few resources that can be had with the click of the mouse (if they have one).

I don't think the forums have been so bad over the last week. Maybe the trolls have got bored and moved on. :)
What about this : With every finished game you earn posting-points so you can either start or respond to threads.
We need to be careful not to exclude valued contributors, who have never played (e.g. goldendog).
I am somewhat amused with this attempt of Censorship. I suggest you start a topic on the forum banning what you define as nonsense. Then I would not have to be faced with your nonsense.
The forum would likely be more nonsense.

No longer a problem for you.
For how long and how would that work ?
