What a world man.

Now a days every online game is just flooded with cheaters. Any game, any gamemode, any level, if there's player vs player, people will cheat. It doesn't matter if there are rewards or not, it seems the percentage of humans that have grown enough ego and selfishness to just cheat people out of their time just to not see a victory screen has grown to immense proportions and it is to me, and online game player, indescribably depressing.

I've spent my whole life refusing categorically to cheat at any online game ever fully aware of how easy to cheat at any of them, hoping that good ethical behavior from my part would be enough to prevent the epidemic from spreading, assuming it was a fad, that people would eventually get bored of cheating at online games. BOY WAS I WRONG.

At this point in time I feel conflicted. On one hand I feel like I have been missing out.. in no game whatsoever is cheating really moderated or taken seriously be developers as there is no real financial incentive to. So by that logic I should just join in on the train and allow myself to have "fun?" or rather a fair fighting chance in the sea of chronic cheaters the internet has now become.

But on the other hand I want to stay clean, I don't want to have to stoop to their low low low level, I know the effects being cheated against repeatedly can have on people, I get driven mad and say seriously disgusting things when beaten suspiciously because I can never know for certain if it's a strike of luck, maybe genius or I was simply once again taken advantage of by someone with no care for the game I care about, some random person with little to know knowledge of the thing I have spent countless hours studying, who only signed on to get a victory screen illegitimately at the expense of some random sucker (me). It is literally abuse. These people get onto games simply to forcibly beat and often insult people.

I do not want to abuse others just to see a victory screen, I want to earn my wins, I want to have fair games against real people who won't simply have a computer play in their stead the second they are unsure of the next optimal move and whether I am the one cheating or I am the one being cheated against, my goal cannot be achieved which is why I have always steered clear of cheating programs.

As final words I guess once again, I'm lost at this point, I want to try to ignore it, I want to try to stay calm when getting cheated against but on the other hand, I cannot sweep away the feeling that it is unfair cheating and dishonesty reigns supreme, I do not think it's unfair that cheaters get to take advantage of other, real people with real feelings just to make themselves feel better, unapologetically stealing one's time, energy and self confidence by cheating against them and insulting their plays.

I'm just confused why the bad guys and cheaters always get their way and people who suffer from it and snap are the ones who have to take the bullets. it makes me very sad. any thoughts from anyone? I don't expect replies, I expect to be mocked by exactly the kind of people I describe in this post in the replies, but if you read trough I would appreciate a well thought trough reply more than anything in the world.

This went from a very long and valid complaint about cheaters to the war on Ukraine...
