I was sent a friend request and was blocked after that

ozypawnstar sent me a friend request back in 2018. I do not know how to check these, so missed it. I just now saw a couple of messages from ozypawnstar sent back in 2018 - I tried to add ozypawnstar as a friend, but found that I have been blocked. Probably because I missed the request.

Is there anyway to let someone know that I didn't ignore the request and that it was unintentional? I am OK with the blocking, but I don't want anyone to think that I was rude

I have done the same thing. If someone ignores my friend request I may block them. I rarely send them out anymore, but when someone rebuffs your request, it's awkward to interact with them again, so blocking is a good way to prevent that. There are 50 million people here, so unless you know the person IRL, it's no big deal.
