Is it possible to erase my stupid chess.com history?

  • #21

Its the internet, you can literally say whatever you want on here without repercussions.

Unless someone at your job finds out your chess.com profile...

@BronsteinPawn Why do you want to hide your love for chess? It's a part of your life.

    Sup 2Q

    I'm fine and you?

  • #27

Did I ask how you were doing?

Im worried about my wife finding out my chess.com profile and realizing I act like a 10 year old kid online. What is she supposed to think when she finds out I write in all caps, use the word "murican" and post stupid teletubbie memes? We have a 3 year old kid and Im afraid she will file a divorce and keep the kid´s custody.

Do you guys think it would be possible to hide my past if I start posting boring chess analysis that only gets 2 comments?

Tell your wife everything. Just think, she might be doing the same thing on a different chess forum.

Just convince your wife that you're trying to show your 3-year-old an example of maturity.  Because a 10-year-old looks mature to a 3-year-old.

And in seven years, if your behaviour hasn't changed, tell her that your son needs interaction on his level.

And ten years later when your behaviour hasn't changed, tell her that you don't want your son to have a boring life.

If you really want people to forget your old threads and behaviour, change your username to something like Botvinnik_School. Then you must stay away from the general chess discussion and off-topic forums and only post in a nerdy section, like chess sets/boards, you know, that one nobody with a life would be interested in.

After that, leave Erik a note asking him to pardon your sins. Your new attitude should convince him you have become a real chess nerd, then he will say "Ego te absolvo..." and all your nonsensical yet funny threads will be deleted from the servers and from everyone's memory.

Keep in mind that king suggests a name like Botvinnik_School.  If you change it to Botvinnik_School, everybody will know it's you.

Thats actually smart. I would have to block everyone tho so they dont have my profile or my messages anymore and have to look in their cache and history for my amazing threads.

So I just need to wait a month without posting, good enough for people not to be able to find me in their history and then change my username like a little sissy. WOW.

The only way you can cultivate plausible deniability is to abandon your account, never log into it again and make a new account.  I retain this option in the (not gonna happen) event I should ever apply for a job that asks me about my internet presence.  No, I am not and have never been the oregonpatzer, I am a much better chess player than that guy who made all those bad moves in his game archive.  I hope to Jesus that isn't your real picture in your avatar.  Why do you suppose I use a cat?  It isn't even my cat!

    Hahaha.  Good stuff

If your wife finds out, say "Everyone was originally a beginner.". If that fails, tell her "At least it's better than not getting better.". If it fails again, challenge her to a chess match. If you lose that match, uh...
